About Romar
Romar company history
Romar is an asset-based family owned and operated company.
Romar was founded in 1965 by Robert L Marden, and
was orginally known as Trailer Train, Inc — a pioneering force in the early piggyback days.
The expansion of Romar Terminal and Warehouse Company and
Romar Trucking Company in Chicago followed soon after.
In 1972, Romar expanded into New England with warehousing the
purchase of M.H. Hillary Trucking Company. In 1976, Romar opened its
Portland, Or
location with warehousing and trucking. Since then we have opened numerous other
other locations and have steadily increased our
presence in the transportation industry. In 1991, Romar consolidated all of
its companies under one name to form Romar Transportation Systems, Inc.
